I have been a trauma focused therapist since I began my career over 20 years ago. I am a Certified EMDR Therapist. Over the last 5+ years, EMDR has become a core method of my work. This evidence based model is so effective for resolving major life traumas but also with smaller traumas that have lasting effects on us. By accessing the natural psychological healing mechanism in the brain, EMDR therapy, more than any other psychotherapy approach, has taught me to trust each person's innate capacity to heal not only from trauma, abuse, and neglect but also feelings of being stuck, overwhelmed, depressed or anxious.
