I specialize in supporting adults who have experienced childhood trauma and relational trauma. Many of my clients don’t use the term “relational trauma,” but instead share stories of having an abusive or emotionally unavailable parent, surviving sexual trauma, or being in abusive marriages or relationships. They often speak about feeling constantly criticized or controlled, growing up with emotionally neglectful caregivers, or being raised in homes impacted by addiction or mental illness. Some were parentified, taking on adult responsibilities at a young age, or felt they had to earn love and approval.
