I provide psychological services to help people struggling with symptoms of addiction or compulsive sexual behaviors. Having over 25 years in practice, I treat those that suffer from symptoms caused from childhood experiences of neglect, emotional, physical or sexual trauma. 'Less than nurturing' parenting can cause adulthood anxiety, depression and addiction. Many of my clients have struggled with addictive behaviors using substances (alcohol, drugs) or processes (sex, love, work) to deal with emotional pain. There is a high correlation between painful childhood experiences and addictive behaviors.
